Lisa Shank will be starting her first year as an assistant coach with the Engineers. Hailing from Pennsylvania, she has played competitive tennis since the age of eight. As a junior player, Shank recorded rankings in the USTA Junior district, sectional, and national divisions. During her high school years at the Agnes Irwin School in Rosemont, Pa., she held the first singles position all four years. Shank went on to receive both the Sportsmanship and MVP awards from the AIS athletic department.
A 2008 graduate of MIT, she began her athletic career as the captain of the women's novice openweight rowing team. Her sophomore year, Shank joined the Engineers' tennis team. She is a certified tennis instructor through Professional Tennis Registry (PTR). Shank currently resides in Cambridge and works in Boston.
