Peter Varnum is in his third year assisting the MIT women's team. Varnum played his collegiate tennis at Division III Carleton College, where he garnered All-Conference honors for three years in singles and doubles, along with a degree in English.
Originally from Kansas City, Varnum played competitive junior tennis in the USTA's Missouri Valley section starting at age 13. His junior career was unremarkable until his final summer in 18-unders, when he and the future Marquette captain won the doubles of Sweet 16. At Carleton, Varnum played in the singles lineup anywhere from 2-5, and played all three doubles positions.
Varnum is excited about having the opportunity to work with such a dynamic group of women, and hopes that the season brings them lots of success and fun!
