No. 22 Bowdoin Tops No. 20 MIT, 7-2

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Nationally-ranked No. 22 Bowdoin College defeated No. 20 MIT, 7-2, in a non-conference women's tennis match on Friday. The Polar Bears improved to 6-2 overall while the Engineers fell to 11-5.

The regionally-ranked No. 4 tandem of Mariah Hoover and Leslie Hansen cruised past Sarah D'Elia and Kristen Raymond, 8-3, in the top spot. Anisa McCree and Yi Wang along with Karina Pikhart and Melissa Diskin fell by the same margin in their matches.

Hansen registered MIT's only other point of the day following her 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 win over D'Elia in the No. 1 singles spot. Kristen Raymond defeated Hoover, 6-3, 6-1, while Diskin lost to Kaitlin Raymond, 6-3, 6-4. Yi Wang dropped a hard-fought 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 decision in the No. 4 slot as Liz Pedowitz outlasted McCree, 7-5, 6-1. In the final spot, Pikhart fell by scores of 6-1 and 6-3.
