MIT Blanks Clark, 9-0

CAMBRIDGE, MASS. - The MIT women's tennis team was too much for Clark University as it surrendered only nine games in its 9-0 win on Tuesday. For the second match in a row, Mariah Hoover won every game at the No. 5 singles position and in No. 3 doubles with partner Serena Lin. Lin went on to shutout her No. 1 singles opponent.

The No. 1 doubles team of Elaine Ni and Jusleen Karve won, 8-1, while Joanna MacKay and Jaclyn Cichon posted an 8-2 victory in the No. 2 spot. In singles action, Ni finished her No. 3 match with a score of 6-0, 6-1, while Cichon defeated her opponent, 6-3, 6-0, in the No. 2 position. MacKay took a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles as Emily Chen had a 6-0, 6-0 victory in the No. 4 slot.

MIT will look to improve its record (4-2, 4-1 NEWMAC) when it hosts Mount Holyoke College on Saturday, Oct. 9 at 1:00 p.m.
