NEWMAC Selects Leslie Hansen as Singles Player of the Week

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - For the second week in a row, the NEWMAC named Leslie Hansen its women's tennis Singles Player of the Week. She posted a 3-1 ledger after advancing to the finals of the No. 1 singles flight at the NEWITT Division III Championship this past weekend.

Following a first-round bye, No. 3 seeded Hansen cruised past Claire Smyser (Middlebury), 6-2, 6-4. She then outlasted Rachel Rosman (Brandeis), 6-1, 7-6 (6) and edged out Grace Cascarilla (Tufts), 6-3, 6-4. In the final, Hansen fell to No. 4 Kristen Raymond (Bowdoin), 7-5, 2-6, 6-3.
