NEWMAC Announces Women's Tennis All-Conference Awards

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) announced its women's tennis post-season awards on Tuesday. Wellesley College, the 2006 Conference Champion, led the way with 11 selections while MIT copped seven honors.

Leslie Hansen made history for the Engineers as she received the program's first Rookie of the Year selection. In addition, she was named to the Second Team in the No. 1 singles spot. The No. 2 doubles tandem of Mariah Hoover and Yi Wang was Tech's lone First-Team pick.

Hoover (No. 2) and Wang (No. 3) received Second Team singles nods while Joanna MacKay earned her fourth NEWMAC award in the No. 6 spot. Anisa McCree and Karina Pikhart received their first conference plaudits after being chosen for the No. 3 doubles slot.
