MIT Women's Outdoor Track and Field Compete at NEICAAAs
EASTON, Mass. - Only two members of the MIT women's track and field team competed at the New England Outdoor Championships that are being held at Stonehill College from Thursday through Saturday, May 9-11. Sophomores Ashley Wheeler (Milford, N.H.) and Tilly Taylor (South Deerfield, Mass.) were the lone Engineers to travel to Easton for the meet.
First to compete was Wheeler, who finished in 15th place in the Hammer Throw with a throw of 146-05. She improved on her performance of 138-01 from the New England Division III Championships that were held at Colby College last weekend.
Taylor entered the event directly after that, the Javelin Throw, coming in 14th with a throw of 115-10.
The final day of the championships will commence tomorrow at 12:00 p.m. After that, the Cardinal and Gray will begin gearing up for the ECAC Division III Championships next weekend and NCAAs the following weekend.
