Engineers Vault To 16th Place At ECAC Championship

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The women's track team placed 16th of 47 teams this past weekend in the ECAC Division III New England Championship at Blake Track. MIT accumulated 18 total points, while the College at Oneonta won the meet with 67 points.

Junior Chi-Fong Wang, junior Christine Fanchiang and freshman Emily Hwang combined for all of the Engineers' points.

Wang finished seventh in the javelin throw with a toss of 37.59 meters. In the pole vault, Fanchiang and Hwang turned in two top notch performances. Fanchiang leaped past all competition with a 3.46 meter mark, and teammate Hwang took third place (3.31).
