CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Briana Stephenson's team-high 12 kills helped lead MIT to a 30-14, 30-17, 30-10 victory over NEWMAC foe Worcester Polytechnic Institute on Tuesday. The win keeps the Engineers in a tie for first place in the conference standings and brings their record to 19-5 overall and 6-0 in the NEWMAC.
Caroline Jordan contributed 10 kills to Tech's attack and posted two solo and four assisted blocks. Amanda Morris dished out 34 assists, leading MIT to a .346 team hitting performance, and added four assisted blocks. Arlis Reynolds led all defenders with 14 digs while Morris and Carrie Buchanan each added eight. Ellen Sojka led the Engineers with four aces as Tech continued to be aggressive and successful from the service line, scoring 11 times against just seven errors.
