Women's Volleyball Drops Heartbreaker to Wellesley

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - MIT lost its second consecutive NEWMAC women's volleyball five-game match on Tuesday, this time falling to Wellesley College, 28-30, 30-28, 30-26, 24-30, 15-12. The defeat lowered the Engineers' overall record to 23-4 and their conference ledger to 5-2.
Alex May powered Tech with 20 digs, 16 kills, six assisted blocks, and two aces while Frances Rogoz also chipped in 16 kills. Katie Rowe recorded MIT's best hitting performance as she totaled 12 kills on 32 attempts with one error (.344). She also contributed six assisted blocks to the Engineers' cause. Carrie Buchanan paced Tech's defense with 29 digs, which was followed by Rose Zhong (15 digs) and Lindsay Hunting (13 digs). Amanda Morris finished the night with 45 assists.
