Oct. 25, 2004
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Behind the efforts of senior Caroline Jordan, who tallied a match-high 18 kills, MIT women's volleyball improved to 22-8 on the season with a 3-0 victory over Endicott College in duPont Gymnasium on Monday night. The loss snapped a 22-match winning streak for the Gulls, who lost by scores of 30-18, 30-28 and 30-21.
Endicott entered Monday's match still perfect in the Eastern time zone. Four losses in Chicago at the beginning of the season was the only thing preventing the Gulls from boasting a perfect record for the year. Despite their successes, the Gulls were in trouble early as MIT dominated both offensively and defensively. Jordan tallied 18 kills in the match, while committing only two errors for a fantastic hitting percentage of .571.
Rose Zhong and Frances Rogoz also played well for the Engineers. Zhong totaled 12 kills and Rogoz added 10. Rogoz was flawless on attack, committing no errors while recording a hitting percentage of .400. The Engineers hit .333 as a team in the three-game sweep.
