SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – The MIT women’s volleyball team downed host Mount Holyoke College, 25-2, 25-12, 25-21, Saturday afternoon in the regular season finale for both New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) squads. The Engineers, who improved to 20-15 on the year and 7-2 in conference play, recorded their 13th straight victory over the Lyons.
MIT was paced by Lindsay Hunting, who amassed 12 digs and seven service aces. Cathy Melnikow tallied 18 assists and eight digs while Allison Hamilos and Kelly Schulte recorded ten and seven kills, respectively. Barden Cleeland bolstered the Cardinal and Gray’s attack by accumulating eight kills.
Amanda Trask paced the Lyons with six kills and six digs. Brenna Shepherd finished with three kills as Chelsea Tracy chipped in with six digs and a pair of kills. Rosa Marruffo collected six digs and two kills while Kateryna Kuc dished out 12 assists.
