CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Following a 4-1 week, Barden Cleeland was named the NEWMAC Player of the Week. In 13 games she averaged 3.77 kills, 1.31 digs, 1.15 blocks, 0.23 aces, and a .396 hitting percentage. She currently leads the NEWMAC in hitting percentage (.365) and blocks per game (1.33) this season.
Cleeland totaled a .565 hitting percentage (14 kills, one error, 23 attempts), five digs, three blocks, and one ace in a sweep over Springfield. At the Tufts Invitational, she registered 11 kills, four digs, and three blocks in two games against Emmanuel. In the Engineers' next match against SUNY Cortland, Cleeland recorded 11 kills with two errors on 18 attempts (.500), and in one game against Salisbury, she tallied four kills, four digs, and two blocks. She capped the week with nine kills and five blocks in 3-2 loss to Tufts. For the week, Cleeland totaled 49 kills, 17 digs, 15 blocks, and three aces.
