CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Following a 4-1 week, which included capturing the Hall of Fame Tournament title and the Tournament MVP award, Alex May was chosen as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's volleyball Player of the Week. She averaged a .241 hitting percentage, 4.44 kills, 3.06 digs, 1.19 blocks, and 0.25 aces in 16 games.
In the Engineers' 3-2 loss to Wellesley College, she posted 16 kills, 20 digs, six assisted blocks, and two aces. Against Mount Holyoke College (3-0) in the opening round of the Hall of Fame Tournament, May posted eight kills, two assisted blocks, and one ace in two games. She closed Friday's pool play with 14 kills, seven digs, and three blocks versus Brandeis University (3-0). In the semifinal match with Amherst College (3-0), May recorded her second double-double of the week with 17 kills and 10 digs to go along with three assisted blocks. Against Tufts University, she totaled a .375 hitting percentage on 16 kills, four errors, and 32 attempts in addition to nine digs and five assisted blocks. May amassed 71 kills, 49 digs, 19 blocks, and four aces during the week.
