CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - No. 3 Amherst College defeated No. 6 Rivier College, 30-25, 30-17, 30-19, in an NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball New England Regional match on Thursday. The Lord Jeffs (28-4) will face either No. 2 Williams College or No. 7 Eastern Connecticut State University at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders closed the season with a 25-12 record.
The opening frame was a back-and-forth affair, featuring eight ties and four lead changes. Rivier established a three-point edge early (6-3) and maintained a slight lead until a kill by Amherst's Jaclyn DeMais evened the game at eight.
