MIT Women’s Cross Country Top in National Poll
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - In the September 19 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll, the MIT women's team was ranked first in the nation for Division III programs, ahead of Washington and Middlebury.
Just a week ago, the Engineers were in the No. 5 position, but they jumped to the top of the list for the second week of polling after an impressive showing at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational this past weekend. This is the first time the women's team has been ranked No. 1 in the nation.
The men's cross country team also made it onto the list for the first time this season in the No. 35 spot.
Both teams will be heading to Williamstown, Mass. for the Purple Valley Classic on Saturday, Sept. 22, and the next USTFCCCA poll will be on Sept. 26.
