MIT Takes Eighth At St. Olaf Invitational

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Although MIT didn't showcase its top lineup, the Engineers still managed to impress at the incredibly competitive St. Olaf Invitational, Saturday morning. Sophomores Maria Monks and Jacqui Wentz led a great team effort, which netted an 8th-place finish out of 25 teams.

Monks split 23:38 to finish first for MIT and 22nd overall in a field that featured over 170 runners. Wentz delivered a strong performance after splitting 23:56 en route to a 32nd - place finish. Freshman Katy Gordon came through the chute in 24:13, good for 49th on the board, while junior Liz Labuz (24:19) and rookie Alina Gatowski (24:22) capped the scoring for MIT. Gatowski finished 60th overall, the fifth best placing for a No. 5 runner in Saturday's meet.
