Women's Cross Country Takes Fifth At Twin Brooks Invitational

GORHAM, MAINE - The women's cross country team travelled to Cumberland, Maine, on Saturday for the University of Southern Maine Invitational, placing fifth in a12-team field. The Engineers scored 158 points behind Tufts University's winning total of 42 points. Leading the squad was co-captain Julia Espel in 11th place, who covered the 6000 meter course in 23:47.

Espelwas followed by freshman Kristen Burrall in 24th and sophomore Alisha Schor in 42nd. Completing the scoringseven were co-captain Jen Gaugler (47th), Liz Walker (53rd), Victoria Hsu (59th) and Angelique Moscicki (60th). Twenty one athletes competed for MIT.

The team will return to the same course in four weeks for the New England Division III Championships and NCAA qualifier.In its next race, Tech cross countrytravels to western massachusetts onSaturday, October 23, at noon to competein the Wellesley College Invitational.
