WELLESLEY, MASS. - MIT women's cross country placed third of three teams in the Wellesley Invitational on Saturdayat the Wellesley College campus course. The host team, led by race winner Tracy Bassett, scored 21 points to beat outNew York University (37) and MIT (76).

Bassett's time of 18:33.7set a new record for the 5000 meter circuit, some 40 seconds better than second place, and led a Blue 1-2-3 sweepin the individual results. With several of MIT's top runners resting for next weekend's NEWMAC championship, top Tech honors went to freshman Angelique Moscicki, whogarnered ninth place in a time of 20:41.

Two more rookies, Hana Adaniya (13th) and Carolyn Atwood (18th) followed Moscicki, while juniors Kelly Kuo (19th) and Becky Romotoski (24th) completed the scoring five.
