CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – MIT cross country coach Halston Taylor was named the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women’s Coach of the Year on Thursday, after guiding the Engineers to the NEWMAC women’s cross country championship last Saturday. Taylor has now received this honor in each of his two years coaching the MIT women.
At Saturday’s championship meet, the Engineers placed eight runners on the NEWMAC All-Conference team, including Runner of the Year Jacqui Wentz and Rookie of the Year Katherine Eve, en route to a second straight NEWMAC championship.
In addition to the two conference awards as coach of the women's team, Taylor has also been recognized as the NEWMAC men’s cross country Coach of the Year 10 times in the league’s 11 year history. His teams have won a combined 13 NEWMAC cross country championships during his career.
