Haig, Caso & McGoldrick Take Home NEISA Women's Sailors of the Week Accolades

Cambridge, Mass. (April 9) - The MIT women's sailing team took home its third weekly award of the year today after Dana Haig (Beach Haven, N.J.)Sarah Caso (Duxbury, Mass.) and Brooke McGoldrick (Southport, Conn.) helped the No. 7 Engineers win the Emily Wick Trophy over the weekend.

Haig, Caso and McGoldrick powered the B Division to a first-place finish with 73 points as the trio sailed their boat into the top-5 in ten different races and won race number 11. Their efforts helped the program to the team title as 155 points between the two divisions was good enough to edge out No. 2 Brown University and No. 8 Harvard University.

This award marks Caso's third Women's Sailor of the Week honor of the season, while it is McGoldrick's second and Haig's first of her collegiate career.

The MIT sailing team returns to action tomorrow as the Engineers host the Midweek Firefly beginning at 4:00 pm at the Sailing Pavilion. The rest of the team will compete in three different regattas beginning on Saturday with the Oberg Trophy at home, the Thompson Trophy at Connecticut College and the Women's Team Race National Invitational at Brown.
