Cambridge, Mass. (May 22) -- MIT baseball senior outfielder/pitcher Garrett Greenwood (Edmond, Okla.) has been named to the D3Baseball.com New England All-Region Third Team as a utility player.
Earning All-Region honors for the first time in his career, he was also a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) First Team All-Conference selection who finished his career with a program-record 227 career hits. This season, he posted a career-high .388 batting average to go along with 24 stolen bases, four home runs, 19 RBI and 36 runs batted in. He was also 2-1 on the mound in six appearances, striking out 28 with 13 walks and a 2.45 ERA.
Over his career, Greenwood finished with 149 runs scored, 38 doubles, 79 RBI, 60 stolen bases and 49 total extra-base hits. Over his last four games this season, he had 12 hits, seven runs scored, five RBI, two home runs and an incredibly catch over the center field fence in the NEWMAC Tournament.
