  • Kroopnick To Serve as Assistant Coach for Maccabi USA Basketball Juniors Boys' Basketball Team

    MIT men’s basketball assistant coach David Kroopnick will serve as an assistant coach for the Maccabi USA Basketball Juniors Boys’ Basketball Team that will compete at the 15th European Maccabi Games from July 28-August 7 in Budapest, Hungary. The organization recently announced the roster for the event as nine athletes from five different states will compete.

    Cambridge, Mass. (March 17) -- MIT senior Bradley Jomard (Paris, France) has been selected as a D3hoops.com Fourth Team All-American as he caps off a slew of postseason accolades. Jomard was named to the NABC All-American Third Team earlier this week and competed in the Reese’s Division III College All-Star Game in Fort Wayne, Indiana on Saturday.

    For the first time in program history, the MIT men’s basketball team has three D3Hoops.com Northeast All-Region honorees in the same season with seniors Bradley Jomard (Paris, France), Tim Roberts (Oak Bluffs, Mass.) and AJ Jurko (Weston, Fla.) being selected. In addition, Jomard also earned a spot on the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Northeast All-District First Team.
  • Roberts Named as Google Cloud Academic All-America Team Member of the Year

    MIT men’s basketball senior Tim Roberts (Oak Bluffs, Mass.) has been named as the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-America Team Member of the Year for Division III Men’s Basketball. Roberts is the second MIT men’s basketball player to earn this honor and the first since Jimmy Bartalotta in 2009. In addition, MIT is now one of just four Division III institutions to have multiple recipients of this award.

    MIT senior Bradley Jomard (Paris, France) has been selected by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) to compete in the 2019 Reese’s Division III College All-Star Game. The game will be played as part of the 2019 NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Championship.

    No. 6 Swarthmore used nearly 90 percent shooting from the field in the first half to build to a 25-point halftime lead as No. 12 MIT dropped an eventual 105-65 final to the Garnet in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday night.

    The No. 12 ranked MIT men’s basketball team opens the 2019 NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Tournament on Friday, March 1st as the Engineers take on the Skidmore College Thoroughbreds in a first-round matchup at Swarthmore College. The game is the third all-time meeting between the teams as the series is tied at 1-1.

    Six members of the MIT men’s basketball team have been named to the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Academic All-Conference Team. The Engineers lead all conference institutions for the eighth straight season as 16 student-athletes were recognized overall in 18-19.

    MIT men’s basketball senior Bradley Jomard (Paris, France) has been named as the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Athlete of the Year, as voted by the league’s head coaches. Jomard is also a First Team All-Conference selection as he is joined on the First Team by seniors AJ Jurko (Weston, Fla.) and Tim Roberts (Oak Bluffs, Mass.). In addition, Jurko was named to the NEWMAC All-Sportsmanship Team for the third straight season.
  • MIT Earns At-Large Bid to the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship

    The No. 12 ranked MIT men’s basketball team has earned an at-large bid to the 2019 NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Championship and will travel to Swarthmore College for a first-round matchup with Skidmore. The Engineers have an overall record of 22-4 and captured the 2019 NEWMAC regular-season championship.
  • No. 7 MIT Falls at the Buzzer to WPI in the NEWMAC Semifinals

    WPI’s Colin McNamara knocked down a jumper at the buzzer as No. 5 seeded WPI defeated No. 1 seeded MIT by a 55-53 final in the NEWMAC semifinals on Thursday night at Rockwell Cage. The game featured eight lead changes and five ties before coming down to the final possession.

    Led by a career high 31 points from sophomore Ian Hinkley (Raleigh, N.C.), the No. 7 MIT men's basketball team earned an 88-63 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) win over Wheaton College on Saturday afternoon in Norton. The win gives the Engineers a sweep of the regular-season series with the Lyons as MIT now leads the all-time series by a 29-21 margin.

    Led by a career-high 38 points from senior Bradley Jomard (Paris, France), No. 7 ranked MIT powered to an 88-77 road win over Babson College on Wednesday night. The previous three meetings had all gone to overtime as the Engineers completed the regular-season series sweep of the Beavers for the first time since the 2012-13 season.

    Led by 50 percent shooting from three and three players in double figures, No. 9 MIT men’s basketball went wire-to-wire in a 96-73 home win over Emerson College on Saturday afternoon. The win splits the regular-season series in 2018-19 as the Engineers now hold a 30-4 advantage all-time with the Lions.
  • Korb Surpasses the 1,000-Point Mark in Wednesday's 87-66 Road Win at Clark

    On Wednesday night, the No. 9 MIT men’s basketball team ran its winning streak to four straight an 87-66 road win at Clark University. In the second half, MIT senior Cameron Korb (Los Gatos, Calif.) became the 30th player in MIT history to reach the 1,000-point mark as he finished the game with 11 points. He now joins teammates Bradley Jomard (Paris, Francis) and AJ Jurko (Weston, Fla.) in the 1,000-point club.

This is the first of two meetings between the teams over an 11-day span.
