Scooba, Miss. (October 19) -- MIT men's basketball head coach Larry Anderson was recently inducted into the East Mississippi Community College Hall of Fame in a ceremony that took placed at the F.R. Young Student Union on the EMCC campus.
Anderson, who was a standout basketball player at East Mississippi Community College from 1981-1983, is entering his 24th year as the head coach of the MIT program. Over his tenure, the Engineers have compiled an overall mark of 375-244 to go along with over 120 NEWMAC victories and eight NCAA Tournament appearances.
Anderson led the Engineers to a berth in the NCAA Final Four in 2012 and guided the team to the Elite Eight in 2017-18 as the team claimed its second straight NEWMAC Championship. In this year's D3Hoops.com Preseason Poll, the Engineers are ranked No. 5.
In addition to the induction ceremony, the 10-member Hall of Fame class was also honored at halftime of the team's homecoming football game vs. Holmes Community College. The EMCC football team is ranked No. 1 in the country and is the defending national champions.
