Cambridge, Mass. (October 24) -- MIT men's basketball senior Bradley Jomard (Paris, France) has been named as a D3Hoops.com Third Team Preseason All-American, as announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Jomard, a D3Hoops.com Second Team All-Region performer in 2017-18, was also a NEWMAC First Team All-Conference performer after leading MIT with 15.5 points per game. He also contributed 5.4 rebounds and 6.7 assists per game, while ranking second in the NEWMAC in total assists with 132. Jomard ranked fourth in the league in blocks (23) eighth in steals (31) and fourth in field goal percentage (56.0%).
Scoring his 1,000th career point in mid-January, Jomard had 16 double-digit scoring games overall and finished the year shooting 75.3 percent from the free throw. In January, Jomard became the first player in MIT history with two career triple-doubles as he posted 21 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in a home win over Clark University.
The Engineers, ranked No. 5 in the D3Hoops.com Preseason National Poll, are coming off a 25-6 campaign in which the team advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight following their second straight NEWMAC Tournament Championship.
MIT opens the season with an exhibition game at Division I Harvard University on November 6th, followed by the team's home opener vs. Endicott College on November 15th at 7 p.m.
