Roberts Earns Second Straight Google Cloud Academic All-District Honor

Cambridge, Mass. (February 27) -- MIT men's basketball senior forward Tim Roberts (Oak Bluffs, Mass.) has been named as a Google Cloud Academic All-District selection for the second straight season.

A civil and environmental engineering major, Roberts is one of just three All-District selections with a perfect GPA. A three-time NEWMAC Academic All-Conference honoree, Roberts was a Second Team Academic All-American last year as he also started all 31 games in 2017-18. This year, Roberts has put together one of the top seasons in the region as he is averaging a double-double at 15 points and 10.7 rebounds and is third in the nation in field goal percentage at 69.2 percent. He also has 17 double-doubles on the year, which ranks him seventh in the nation and first in the NEWMAC.

The 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-District Men's Basketball Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The Google Cloud Academic All-America program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions - NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third- team (if applicable) Academic All-America honorees will be announced in mid-March.
