Men's Basketball Places Six on NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team

Westwood, Mass. (February 27) -- Six members of the MIT men's basketball team have been named to the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Academic All-Conference Team. The Engineers lead all conference institutions for the eighth straight season as 16 student-athletes were recognized overall in 18-19.

This year's MIT selections include senior Cameron Korb (Los Gatos, Calif.), junior Francis McCann (Guadalajara, Mexico), junior Nacho Nwana (White Plains, N.Y.), senior Dakota Pierce (Thousand Oaks, Calif.), senior Tim Roberts (Oak Bluffs, Mass.) and junior Christien Williams (Charlotte, N.C.).

Pierce and Roberts are three-time honorees, while Korb, McCann and Williams are all being honored for the second time.

Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2018 fall semester, achieved second year academic status at his institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.
