WORCESTER, Mass. - Racing on Lake Quinsigamond in the EARC Eastern Sprints, the Men's Lightweight crew team turned in a fine performance against Division 1 opponents on Sunday morning.  The Engineers finished 4th in both the 1V and 2V8 petite finals.

Beginning the morning for the Engineers were the opening heats of the 2V8 races.  Racing in Heat 2, MIT finished in a time of 6:31.47, good enough for 5th place and a spot in the petite final. The 1V boat also began their morning by racing in Heat 2, finishing in 5th in 6:21.07.  The Engineers then turned around to compete in the Petite Final.  The Final saw a closely packed race with the Engineers eventually finishing in 4th in 6:07.49, behind Georgetown who finished in 6:05.21.  Harvard took first in the heat (5:58.52), while Dartmouth finished second in 6:02.40.
