CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - For the second year in a row, the Northeast Fencing Conference (NFC) selected Trevor Chang as the Male Fencer of the Year. He became the first athlete in conference history to earn this honor in back-to-back seasons. According to Dr. Elliot Lilien, commissioner of the NFC, "Trevor is valued by his coach and respected by his teammates and opponents. His hard work and team spirit led MIT to the conference championship. Trevor's record of 23-1 was the best in the league and it is our great privilege to have such an outstanding competitor in our organization."
Chang was also tabbed for the All-Star Team for the third time while Brian Quattrochi, Jason Chen, and Spencer Sugimoto earned their second career selections. Matt Gethers, Igor Kopylov, and Michael Beregovsky received their first NFC honors.
Teams in the Northeast Fencing Conference include Boston College, Boston University, Brandeis University, Brown University, Dartmouth College, Harvard University, the University of Massachusetts, the University of New Hampshire, Smith College, Tufts University, and Wellesley College.
