  • MIT Football Supports Lauren’s First and Goal

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Founded in 2004, Lauren's First and Goal is a foundation whose mission is to provide financial support for brain tumor research and cancer services, to offer financial and emotional support to families living with pediatric cancer, and to increase awareness of the disease. The foundation is named for Lauren Loose, a pediatric brain tumor survivor whose father is an assistant football coach at Army West Point.

Junior Brandon Basil (Northford, Conn.) threw for five touchdowns, all in the first half, to lead the Seahawks to the victory. Freshman Udgam Goyal (Frisco, Texas) threw for 251 yards in his second career start for the Engineers.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Western New England kept its perfect football season intact tonight against MIT, using a balanced offensive attack and a stingy defense to come up with a 35-3 win over the Engineers. Junior Tucker Cheyne (Avon, Conn.) scored MIT’s only points on a 47-yard field goal, setting a new school with the length of his boot.

    NEW LONDON, Conn. – The U.S. Coast Guard Academy scored a touchdown in every quarter and held MIT scoreless in the second half as the Bears scored a 28-13 win over the Engineers in a New England Football Conference (NEFC) game. Freshman Adis Ojeda (Springfield, Va.) continued his impressive first year at MIT, rushing for 208 yards, becoming the first player in MIT history to run for more than 200 yards in three straight games.

    TROY, N.Y. – It looked good early for the MIT football team in its first-ever meeting with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. The Scarlet and Grey scored the first time it had the ball, but it was all RPI after that as MIT fell to the Engineers from New York by a 42-7 score.

    LEICESTER, Mass. – It was a tough day for the MIT football team on the gridiron this afternoon as Becker College used a high-powered offense that racked up 578 total yards to take a 37-26 win over the Engineers. Junior Jacob Holmes (Worcester, Mass.) had a record-setting 232 yards on the ground for the Hawks, including TD runs of 65 and 93 yards to lead Becker to the victory.
