    The MIT football team will travel to No. 13 ranked Johns Hopkins University for the first round of the 2018 NCAA Division III Tournament as that game will take place at Homewood Field in Baltimore, Md.

    Coming off the 2018 New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship on Saturday, the MIT football team has earned a spot in the 2018 NCAA Division III Football Championship as that field was announced on Saturday evening. The Engineers are the Pool B selection for the 32-team field and will be making the program’s second NCAA Tournament appearance and first since 2014.
  • Football Tops Springfield in 22-7 Final to Capture NEWMAC Championship

    On Senior Day, the MIT football team forced three Springfield turnovers and turned those into 12 points, en route to a 22-7 final and the outright 2018 NEWMAC Conference Championship. Prior to the game, the Engineers recognized the senior class for their contributions to the MIT program during their careers.
  • Football Lands 21 On NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team

    The MIT football team has placed 21 student-athletes on the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Academic All-Conference Team, as announced by the conference office. Overall, 93 student-athletes were recognized across the league as MIT is tied with WPI for the second-most among members institutions.
  • Football Moves to 8-1 With a 20-0 Shutout Win at Norwich

    On Saturday afternoon, the MIT football team picked up its third shutout victory in its last four games with a 20-0 road shutout of Norwich University at Sabine Field. Today’s win sets up next week’s matchup with Springfield College as both teams will have a chance for at least a share of the NEWMAC Championship.

    After facing an early 14-point deficit, the MIT football team moved to 4-0 on the season with a 34-24 comeback win over Catholic University in the NEWMAC opener. The Engineers outscored the Cardinals by a 17-0 margin in the second half to secure the victory.
  • Football Holds Off Endicott for 31-29 Win to Improve to 3-0

    Led by a pair of touchdowns from sophomore Keithen Shepard (Vancouver, Wash.) and a number of key special teams plays, the MIT football team held off Endicott College for a 31-29 road win on Saturday afternoon. The non-conference win is the second straight in the all-time series for MIT and improves the Engineers to a perfect 3-0 on the season.

    On Friday night in non-conference action, the MIT football team improved to 2-0 on the season with a 16-6 road victory over Curry College. The Engineers held a convincing advantage in time of possession as MIT held the ball for over 37 minutes in the 10-point win.
  • Football Tops Becker in 23-3 Final in Season Opener

    Scoring on its first play from scrimmage just 17 seconds in, the MIT football team opened the 2018 season with a 23-3 non-conference home victory over Becker College on Friday night. The win is the first for head coach Brian Bubna, who is in his first season as the head coach after spending nine years as an assistant.

  • Brian Bubna Named as MIT Football Head Coach

    Brian Bubna has been named as the MIT football head coach, as announced by MIT director of athletics Julie Soriero. Bubna has been a member of the MIT football coaching staff since the 2010 season and has served as the program’s defensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator since 2012.
