Samuel Solomon Takes Fourth on 1-Meter Board at NCAA Diving Regionals

Middlebury, Vt. (March 2) - MIT men's swimming and diving sophomore Samuel Solomon (Rockville, Md.) and junior Jeremy Sands (Skokie, Ill.) represented the Engineers this afternoon on the 1-meter board at the NCAA Division III Northeast-North Diving Regional held at Middlebury College.

Solomon finished in fourth place with a score of 474.35, while Sands took 11th place with a score of 396.70.

NYU's Connor Brisson won the event with a mark of 510.00 and was joined in the top-five by Connor Pennington of Springfield College (480.55), Matt Mintz of Union College (477.75), Solomon and Mitchell Ryan of Bowdoin College (461.15).

Tomorrow, the men's divers will compete on the 3-meter board at 4:00 p.m. at Middlebury College. Qualifiers for the 2018 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships, which will take place at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis from March 21-24, will be announced at the conclusion of the meet tomorrow night.
