- The Lead: On Tuesday afternoon in Cambridge, the No. 22 nationally-ranked MIT men's tennis team  was defeated by No. 34 Brandeis University, 7-2.


- Brandeis took all three doubles matches to start things today to take an early 3-0 lead. Sophomore Tyler Barr (Chagrin Falls, Ohio) and freshman Albert Go (Merritt Island, Fla.) played the closest doubles set of the three, but ultimately fell 8-5 to Tyler Ng and David Aizenberg at the No. 2 position. Both Alex Cauneac (Severna Park, Md.) and Bryan Lilley (Edmond, Okla.) as well as Victor Cheng (Santa Monica, Calif.) and Sean Ko (Danville, Calif.) dropped their doubles matches by duplicate 8-4 scores at No. 1 and No. 3, respectively.

- Barr and Ko bounced back in singles play as they earned the only two points for MIT tonight in their respective matches. Barr bested Ryan Bunis in straight sets 6-4, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, while Ko did the same to Ng, 6-2, 6-3 at No. 4 singles.

- Cauneac, Cheng and Go all played to decisive third sets in tonight's match, but Brandeis came away with all three points to seal the match for the Judges. Cauneac fell 7-6, 4-6, 6-0 at No. 2 singles, Cheng dropped his match 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 at No. 3 singles and Go fell 6-4, 4-6, 10-7 at No. 5 singles.


- MIT (12-3) welcomes RPI for a non-conference contest on Friday, April 21 beginning at 4:00 p.m., while Brandeis (10-6) heads to Altamonte Springs, Florida for the quarterfinals of the UAA Tournament against Washington University (Mo.) at 9:00 a.m. on Friday.
