CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After earning two impressive road victories last Saturday, October 11, including an 11-9 win against No. 13 Brown University, MIT junior Ory Tasman (Orlando, Fla.) was selected as this week's Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Northern Division Player of the Week. This is the second time Tasman has received this award since earning the accolade last season.
Tasman netted eight goals on Saturday, four in each contest. He registered three of his four goals against the Bears in the third quarter before netting his final marker at 7:21 in the fourth. Against the Camels, Tasman led the Engineers with four goals. Tasman currently leads the Cardinal and Gray through 18 contests with 49 goals and is currently fifth in program history with 181 tallies.
MIT, which is currently ranked fifth in the CWPA Division III poll, will be in action this weekend at the Division III Eastern Championships, hosted by Washington and Jefferson College. Tech, ranked second in the tournament, will compete against Monmouth College at 11:20 a.m. and Washington and Jefferson at 4:40 p.m. on Saturday, October 18.
