CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – For the second week in a row, MIT junior Ory Tasman (Orlando, Fla.) was named the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Northern Division Player of the Week as announced on Friday, October 24. This is the third time in Tasman's career that he's received this accolade.
Tasman helped the No. 4 Engineers claim their first Division III Championship in four seasons by netting six goals – four in the first quarter – against No. 5 Johns Hopkins University last Sunday in a 14-10 victory. He recorded back-to-back hat tricks in Saturday's first and second round contests against Monmouth College and No. 9 Washington & Jefferson. Tasman was also named to the tournament's first team along with classmate Kale Rogers (Newberg, Ore.).
Through 21 contests this season, Tasman has recorded a team-high 61 goals. He currently ranks third in program history with 193 goals.
Tech returns to action tomorrow when they travel to No. 18 Harvard University for an 11:00 a.m. contest before returning home to host Connecticut College at 7:00 p.m.
