Westwood, Mass. (October 27) -- The MIT men's cross country team had a league-high 12 student-athletes named to the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men's Cross Country Academic All-Conference Team. Overall, just 29 men's cross country runners were honored league-wide.
For the Engineers, who are currently ranked No. 10 in the latest United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III National Poll, the team had four seniors, four juniors and four sophomores earn Academic All-Conference honors.
Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2017 spring semester, achieved second year academic status at her institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.
