MIT Lands Division III-Leading Eight Track and Field/Cross Country Google Cloud Academic All-America Selections
June 25, 2019Eight members of the MIT men’s and women’s track and field/cross country programs have been named to the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-America Teams, as announced on Tuesday by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Seven Engineers were named to the First Team, while MIT had one Second Team honoree and led all of Division III with eight selections. -
Cross Country/Track and Field Lands Eight Google Cloud Academic All-District Selections
May 29, 2019Eight members of the MIT men’s and women’s track and field/cross country programs have been named as Google Cloud Academic All-District selections, as announced by CoSIDA. On the men’s side, senior Aidan Gilson (Florence, Mass.), senior Josh Rosenkranz (Glencoe, Ill.), sophomore Yorai Shaoul (Raanana, Israel) and junior Billy Woltz (Logan, Ohio) were all recognized. For the women, junior Katie Bacher (Macungie, Pa.), junior Jenna Melanson (La Center, Wash.), junior Margaret Trautner (Houston, Texas) and senior Leandra Zimmermann (Augsburg, Germany) were selected. -
Men's, Women's Cross Country Honored With USTFCCCA Academic Awards
February 25, 2019The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced its 2018 National Academic Awards as 11 individuals and the MIT men’s and women’s cross country teams were recognized. -
MIT Ranked 12th in the 2018 Learfield Directors' Cup Fall Standings
January 03, 2019n the 2018 Fall Learfield Directors’ Cup standings, MIT is currently ranked 12th in the country among Division III programs with a total of 218.50 points. The Engineers are again the top-ranked program overall from the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) after claiming four league championships in the fall. -
No. 19 Men's Cross Country Places 16th at NCAA Championship
November 17, 2018At the NCAA Division III National Championship, the No. 19 ranked MIT men’s cross country team placed 16th with a total of 465 points over the eight-kilometer course at Lake Breeze Golf Course. -
No. 20 Men's Cross Country Places Fourth at NCAA Regionals
November 10, 2018On Saturday at the NCAA New England Regional Championship, the No. 20 ranked MIT men’s cross country team finished fourth overall with a total of 145 points as the team had four All-Region performers. The event was hosted by Bowdoin College. -
Taylor, Rosenkranz and McPhillips Honored In NEWMAC Postseason Awards
November 01, 2018Three members of the MIT men’s and women’s cross country programs were recently recognized in the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Postseason Awards. Head coach Halston Taylor was named as the Men’s Coach of the Year, while men’s senior Josh Rosenkranz (Glencoe, Ill.) and women’s junior Marissa McPhillips (Narragansett, R.I.) each earned spots on the All-Sportsmanship Teams. -

October 25, 2018Westwood, Mass. (October 25) -- The New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) has announced the 2018 Men’s Cross Country Academic All-Conference Team. MIT led the way with a league-high nine Academic All-Conference selections as 32 student-athletes were honored overall. -
No. 14 Engineers Place 10th at Pre-Nationals Meet in Wisconsin
October 13, 2018On Saturday at the UW-Oshkosh Kollege Town Sports Invitational at Lake Breeze Golf Course, the No. 14 ranked MIT men’s cross country team finished 10 out of 50 teams with a total of 368 points. The meet was the preview meet for the upcoming 2018 NCAA National Championship as the teams competed on the eight-kilometer course. -
No. 16 Men's Cross Country Finishes Third at NEICAAA's
October 06, 2018On Saturday at the NEICAAA Cross Country Championship, the No. 16 ranked MIT men’s cross country team finished third overall out of 26 schools and first among Division III programs. The Engineers finished with a total of 125 points, which was just nine back of Division I Northeastern University. -

No. 7 Men's Cross Country Finishes Fifth at Purple Valley Classic
September 22, 2018In the first meet of the season, the No. 7 ranked MIT men’s cross country team finished fifth at the Purple Valley Classic as the Engineers finished with a total of 127 points and had four runners in the top 30 overall.
