Westwood, Mass. (November 6) -- MIT cross country head coach Halston Taylor has been named as the 2019 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year. Taylor's team captured its 22nd straight NEWMAC Championship last weekend with a convincing victory at Franklin Park.

At the NEWMAC Championship, the No. 12 ranked Engineers finished with a total of 18 points to defeat runner-up WPI by a 27-point margin. Sophomore Andrew Mah (Newton, Mass.) was the league's Athlete of the Year, while first-year Sanjay Raman (Seattle, Wash.) was named as the Rookie of the Year. In addition, 10 Engineers earned All-Conference accolades.

For Taylor, this marks his sixth straight NEWMAC men's Coach of the Year honor and his 17th overall dating back to the 1998 season.
