The first half was closely played as it featured seven lead changes and three ties until a pair of Ilutzi free throws put MIT in front, 19-18, with 6:52 to go. Two free throws and a basket by Hunt gave the Engineers some breathing room but the Pride narrowed the gap to three (23-20) at the 4:40 mark. Junior Osheiza Otori's (Metairie, La.) layup on MIT's ensuing possession sparked a 10-2 spurt that ended the half with the Cardinal and Gray holding a 33-22 lead.

The Engineers carried the momentum into the second stanza as their 11 straight points fueled a 27-4 run that resulted in a 50-26 advantage with 11:12 on the clock. During the game-changing rally, MIT held Regis scoreless for the first 5:19 of the frame. The hosts trimmed their deficit to 18 with 9:39 and 4:51 remaining, but they would get no closer.

Next up for MIT will be its first NEWMAC game of the season slated for Wednesday, Nov. 20 at first-year league foe Emerson College.
