Westwood, Mass. (February 19) – For the third year in a row the MIT women's basketball team led the way with NEWMAC Academic All-Conference honors and repeated with a program-record selection of eight student-athletes. The list is comprised of 42 student-athletes who earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale or 4.35 on a 5.0 scale after the 2018 fall semester, achieved second year academic status at her institution, and has been a member of the team for the entire season.
Seniors Sophie Gershon (New York, N.Y.), Kara Holinski (Livonia, Mich.), Kristen Ngan (Sudbury, Mass.), and Dolly Yuan (San Jose, Calif.) received their third award while senior Maude Gull (Zurich, Switzerland) and junior Cindy Si (San Antonio, Texas) were repeat honorees. Sophomores Kylie Gallagher (Upton, Mass.) and Margaret Sullivan (Wilmington, Del.) represented the Engineers on the list for the first time.
MIT (19-7), seeded No. 4 in the NEWMAC Tournament, continues its season on Thursday, Feb. 21 when it visits top-seeded Babson College for a semifinal match-up slated for a 7:00 p.m. tip off.
