Women’s Lightweight Crew Competes at Dartmouth

HANOVER, N.H. – MIT's women's lightweight crew team took its annual trek to Hanover, New Hampshire to compete in the Dartmouth Green Monster event on the Connecticut River. The Engineers, who were the only lightweight team to field crews, had two boats in the event that features novice crews.

MIT's A boat had the best showing, finishing 8th overall out of 15 entries. Starting seventh, the Engineers passed the Vermont openweight A crew along the three-mile course to finish with a time of 17:47, just two seconds behind the Dartmouth B openweight crew. MIT's B boat covered the route in 19:40 for a finish of 14th, just one second behind the UMass openweight C crew.

MIT will close out its fall season next week back on the Charles River when it competes in the Foot of the Charles on Nov. 9.
