Women’s Lightweight Crew Completes Fall Season

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – At home on the Charles River, the MIT women's lightweight crew team finished up the fall portion of its 2013-14 schedule with several crews entered in the Foot of the Charles competition. The Engineers had three entries in the Varsity 4+ event, along with crews in the Novice 8 and Varsity 8 (3V) races.

Competing against a mixture of lightweight and openweight crews, MIT's three boats in the Varsity 4+ event finished in consecutive places, coming in 29th, 30th and 31st. The C crew had the best time, completing the course in 15:14.0, with all three crews finishing within slightly more than 14 seconds of one another.

In the Varsity 8 (3V) event, MIT was the only lightweight crew and covered the course in 14:41.6 to finish fifth, nine seconds behind a crew from Radcliffe. One of only three lightweight teams in the Novice 8 race, MIT finished 16th in 15:42.6.
