Princeton, N.J. (May 17) -- MIT senior lightweight women's rower Elizabeth Martin (Lexington, Mass.) has been selected to the US U23 National Team Selection Camp. The camp will take place beginning in early June in Boston.
"All of the staff at Pierce Boathouse are incredibly proud that Liz has been invited to participate in the U23 lightweight women's rowing selection camp," said MIT head coach Claire Martin-Doyle. "Over the past four years, Liz has dedicated herself to training and worked tirelessly to earn this invitation to camp. Liz has made her mark on the program by achieving the second- fastest all-time 2,000-meter ergometer score, being a medalist at the 2018 Crash-B as well as being part of the First Varsity Eight that made history in 2016 by placing third at the Head of the Charles. We're honored that she will continue to represent MIT on the national level upon her graduation in June."
A former CRCA Scholar-Athlete and member of the IRA All-Academic Team, Martin will graduate from MIT with a degree in computer science and molecular biology with a minor in data science and statistics and a concentration in political science.
The 2018 World Rowing Under 23 Championships will be held from July 25-29 in Poznan, Poland.
