Openweight Crew Places 19 on Patriot League Academic Honor Roll
July 03, 2018Center Valley, Pa. (July 3) -- Nineteen members of the MIT women’s openweight crew team have been named to the Patriot League Women’s Rowing Academic Honor Roll. Overall, the Engineers had five student-athletes who were recognized for the third time, four two-time honorees and 10 first-time award winners. -
Six Engineers Named as CRCA National Scholar-Athletes

Diener, McCandler Named to Academic All-Patriot League Team
May 18, 2018MIT women’s openweight rowers Abbey Diener (Draper, Utah) and Caitlin McCandler (St. Louis Park, Minn.) were among 11 student-athletes named to the women’s rowing Academic All-Patriot League team, as announced by the league office. This is the first time that they have been recognized on the All-Academic Team and MIT is one of just three teams to have multiple honorees. -
Diener, Rowles Earn All-Patriot League Rowing Honors
May 16, 2018Center Valley, Pa. (May 16) -- MIT women’s openweight rowing senior captain Abbey Diener (Draper, Utah) and sophomore Premila Rowles (Cupertino, Calif.) have both been named to the All-Patriot League Women’s Rowing Teams. Diener earns a spot on the First Team, while Rowles is a Second Team selection. Both are being honored for the first time in their careers by the league office. -
V8, 2V8 Boats Lead MIT at Patriot League Championship
May 11, 2018At the 2018 Patriot League Championship, the MIT women’s openweight crew team wrapped up the 2017-18 season as the Engineers Varsity 8 and Second Varsity 8 boats both advanced to the Grand Final. The Varsity 4 boat also captured the Petite Final in the first of the finals races in the late morning. -
Women's Openweight Crew Competes at the EAWRC Sprints
April 29, 2018The MIT women’s openweight crew team competed in the EAWRC Sprints on Sunday afternoon on Lake Quinsigamond as the Engineers advanced two varsity eight boats and the varsity four boat to the Petite Finals. -

Women's Openweight Crew Announces Incoming Class
August 21, 2017Cambridge, Mass. (August 21) -- The MIT openweight women’s crew program has announced its incoming class for the fall of 2017 as the Engineers welcome six new members to the program. MIT will again be under the direction of 2017 Patriot League Coach of the Year Holly Metcalf and novice coach Hank Zimmerman.
