Foil Unit Leads the Way for Women's Fencing at Duke Invitational

Durham, N.C. (February 12) - Battling against Division I opponents at the Duke Invitational on Sunday, the MIT women's fencing team fell to the host Blue Devils (22-5), University of North Carolina (18-9), the U.S. Air Force Academy (16-11), Northwestern University (21-6), and Boston College (17-10). The foil squad turned in a 24-21 performance, led by senior Jessica Li's (Englewood, Colo.) tally of 8-3. Sophomore Helen Sakharova (Ridgewood, N.J.) paced the epee contingent with a 5-7 mark while junior Nicole Kogan (New Haven, Conn.) went 3-12 for the sabre team.
