MIT Picks Up a Win at Duke Invitational

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - In its final competition of the regular season, MIT posted a 1-4 record at the Duke University Invitational last weekend. The Engineers (12-14) defeated the U.S. Air Force Academy (18-9), but fell to Brandeis University (16-11), Temple University (18-9), the host Blue Devils (14-13), and the University of North Carolina (19-8).

Behind Cordelia Link's 11-4 performance, the foil team finished with a 21-24 mark, including an 8-1 tally against Air Force. Lindley Graham compiled a total of 6-9 while Jenna Caldwell and Chun Li contributed scores of 2-5 and 2-6, respectively.

In epee action, Stephanie Shin went 11-4 as the team amassed a record of 19-26. Zhenya Gu and Joanna Tong rounded out the contingent with identical marks of 4-11.

Yuhsin Chen paced the sabre team with a 10-5 ledger as MIT posted a total of 18-27. Elena Tatarchenko finished at 6-9, followed by Hareem Ahmad (1-6) and Laura Evans (1-7).
