Gilbert, Ariz. (December 5) – MIT junior Devon Goetz (Rockville, Md.) was voted to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-America Third Team as announced by the organization on Wednesday. A first-time honoree, her selection is the 15th in program history and marks the third straight year the Engineers have been represented on this list.
During the past month, Goetz was named to the NEWMAC All-Conference First Team and the NFHCA New England East All-Region First Team. A midfielder, she ranked fourth in the NEWMAC in assists (seven), tied for fifth in game-winning goals (three), and sixth in goals (16) and points (39). Goetz also contributed to a defense that was fourth in the conference in fewest goals allowed (38) and goals against average (1.99).
