CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The MIT women's lacrosse team begins its 2013 campaign on Saturday, March 2 with the first of four straight home games. A total of five new opponents appear on the Engineers' schedule in addition to a six-game New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) docket.

MIT's season-opening homestand features the University of Southern Maine (March 2) and Gordon College (March 5), along with first-time foes Lasell College (March 14) and University of Maine-Farmington (March 16). The Engineers make their first road trip of the season to Eastern Connecticut State University on March 19 and then visit Wheaton College on March 23 to kick off NEWMAC play.

The Cardinal and Gray head out to Colorado Springs where they will face host Colorado College and Pacific University for the first time in program history on March 26-27. Upon its return to Cambridge, MIT hosts conference foe Smith College on March 30, followed by non-conference match-ups with Framingham State University (April 2) and Keene State College (April 4).

The Engineers resume NEWMAC play on the road at Mount Holyoke College (April 6) and Babson College (April 9) before concluding the season with three straight home games. The final stretch features MIT's last non-conference opponent in Drew University (April 13) followed by league rivals Wellesley College (April 16) and Springfield College (April 20). Should the Engineers finish among the top five teams in the conference standings, they will earn a spot in the NEWMAC Championship Tournament with first-round play slated for April 24.
