  • No. 5 Softball Opens 2019 With a Two Game Sweep at Simmons

    The No. 5 nationally-ranked MIT softball team opened its 2019 season with a two-game sweep of Simmons College on Wednesday night in Brighton. The Engineers took game one by a score of 6-2 and then won game two, 14-5, to complete the sweep.
  • Ravenne Nasser Named to Schutt Sports/NFCA Division III National Player of the Year Watch List

    Louisville, Ky. (February 12) – Pitcher Ravenne Nasser (Methuen, Mass.), of the No. 8 nationally-ranked MIT softball team, was among fifty student-athletes named to the 2019 Schutt Sports/NFCA Division III National Player of the Year watch list, as announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) on Monday morning.
  • MIT Softball Releases 2019 Schedule

    Cambridge, Mass. (February 6) – The No. 8 nationally-ranked MIT softball has announced its slate of games for the 2019 season, which will feature 36 games including eight contests in Clermont, Florida for the team's annual spring training trip, 14 home games at Briggs Field and 18 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) games. Coming off its second appearance in the Division III College World Series in three years and its first NEWMAC Championship in program history, the Engineers will be under the guidance of first-year head coach Brooke Kalman.
  • Brooke Kalman Named as MIT Softball Head Coach

    Brooke Kalman has been named as the MIT softball head coach, as announced by Director of Athletics Julie Soriero. Kalman comes to MIT from Franklin & Marshall College and will succeed former head coach Jen Williams. In addition to her softball coaching duties, Kalman will also be working with student-athlete programming.
  • Softball Records Fourth Best GPA In Division III and Repeats Program Record With Ten NFCA Scholar-Athletes

    Louisville, Ky. (October 3) – Led by a program record ten student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.50 or higher during the 2017-18 academic year, the MIT softball team was recognized by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) for their academic excellence in the classroom.
  • Softball Hosts Alumnae Game & Honors Amber VanHemel as Jerry Marshall Award Recipient

    Cambridge, Mass. (September 26) ? Over the weekend, the MIT softball team hosted its annual alumnae game and held a banquet for the record-breaking 2018 season. The team, alumni, and family in attendance celebrated the 2018 roster?s accomplishments and honored the individual award winners from the past year. Amber VanHemel (Coconut Creek, Fla.) received the Jerry Marshall Award, which honors the father of Lexi Marshall ?15, who was a great friend to MIT Softball. The award in his honor celebrates an individual student-athlete from the MIT softball team who shows lightheartedness, passion and competitive spirit; Amber is the annual award?s second recipient.
