  • Von Ahn Earns Spot on Google Cloud Academic All-America First Team

    Austin, Texas (June 6) - For the second straight season, junior designated player and outfielder Sarah Von Ahn (West Linn, Ore.) has been named as a Google Cloud College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-American. Von Ahn is the 305th all-time Academic All-America honoree from MIT as the Engineers lead Division III and rank second all-time behind the University of Nebraska.
  • Nasser, Goetz & Campbell Earn NFCA All-New England Honors

    Louisville, Ky. (May 17) - Three members of the MIT softball team including senior Ravenne Nasser (Methuen, Mass.), junior Devon Goetz (Rockville, Md.) and sophomore Colleen Campbell (Snoqualmie, Wash.) have all been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-New England teams, as the organization released its selections earlier this week.
  • Softball Falls to No. 23 Rowan, 7-6, in 14 Inning Regional Final Marathon Game

    MIT softball forced the if necessary game after defeating No. 23 Rowan University, 5-3, in game six of the NCAA Cambridge Regional, but the visiting Profs topped the host Engineers, 7-6, in 14 innings in game seven to claim the regional title. The loss ends MIT's season at 30-12-1, while Rowan will play Eastern Connecticut State University next weekend in the Super Regional round at a site to be determined by the NCAA later this week.
  • Softball Stays Alive in NCAA Tournament With 5-4 Walk Off Win Against Eastern Nazarene

    After falling to No. 23 Rowan in the winner's bracket game this morning, 1-0 in ten innings, the MIT softball team rallied from a two-run deficit in the bottom of the seventh in an elimination game against Eastern Nazarene College to advance to tomorrow's Cambridge Regional final.
  • Li Blasts 10th Inning Walk Off Homer to Send MIT Softball Over Husson in NCAA Opener

    Sophomore Phoebe Li (Morganville, N.J.) blasted a solo home run over the fence in left field in the bottom of the tenth inning to give MIT softball a 1-0 win over Husson University on the opening day of the 2019 NCAA Division III Softball Championship Tournament in Cambridge.
  • Softball Prepared to Open NCAA Tournament Against Husson Tomorrow

    Cambridge, Mass. (May 9) – The MIT softball team, which earned the right to host a regional for the second time in as many seasons, is set to open the 2019 NCAA Division III Softball Championship Tournament on Friday, May 10 at 2:30 pm against the Eagles of Husson University. This game will be the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
  • Three From MIT Softball Named To CoSIDA Google Cloud Academic All-District Team

    Cambridge, Mass. (May 9) - Three members of the MIT softball team have been selected to the Google Cloud Academic All-District Team, as chosen by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) organization throughout New England for their hard work both on the field and in the classroom this year. MIT was tied for first in the country with Ithaca College and TCNJ for the most selections this year.

(May 8) - For the second consecutive season, MIT senior Ravenne Nasser (Methuen, Mass.) has been named as the 2019 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Softball Pitcher of the Year. Additionally, junior Devon Goetz (Rockville, Md.) and Michelle Wist (Cypress, Texas) as well as sophomore Colleen Campbell (Snoqualmie, Wash.) earned spots on the All-Conference teams this season.
  • Softball Earns At-Large Bid to NCAA Tournament; Selected to Host Regional

    Cambridge, Mass. (May 6) – The No. 21 ranked MIT softball team has learned that their season will continue this week as they were picked as one of 18 at-large selections for the 2019 NCAA Division III Softball National Championship Tournament. Not only will the Engineers compete in the 62-team tournament, but MIT has been selected as one of 16 host sites for the regional round. Scheduled for May 10-12, the nationally-ranked Engineers will welcome No. 17 Rowan University, Husson University and Eastern Nazarene College to Cambridge for the double elimination tournament.
  • MIT Softball Falls to WPI in NEWMAC Championship

    Top-seeded WPI defeated second-seeded MIT twice on Saturday afternoon to claim the 2019 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship title. The win for WPI secures the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament, while MIT will have to wait for its name to be called for one of 18 at-large berths on Monday, May 6 during the selection show on NCAA.com slated to begin at 1:00 pm.
  • No. 21 Softball Advances to NEWMAC Final With 5-1 Win at WPI

    A four run top of the sixth inning by second-seeded MIT was the difference as the Cardinal and Gray defeated top-seeded WPI, 5-1, in the winner's bracket of the 2019 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship Tournament at Roof Top Field on Friday night. 
  • Softball Places Eight on 2019 NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team

    Westwood, Mass. (May 2) – Eight members from the No. 21 MIT softball team have been named to the 2019 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Academic All-Conference Team, as announced by the league office this afternoon. The Engineers ranked second in the conference with eighth selections which was only behind Springfield College which had nine honorees.
  • Torres Scores Game Winning Run as No. 21 MIT Edges Babson, 1-0, to Open NEWMAC Tournament

    Second-seeded MIT softball picked up a thrilling 1-0 win over third-seeded Babson College on the first day of the 2019 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Tournament on Wednesday. With the win, MIT remains in the winner's bracket and will play top-seeded WPI on Friday in Worcester.
  • No. 16 Softball Earns Senior Day Sweep Over Regionally-Ranked Tufts

    On the final day of the regular season, the No. 16 ranked MIT softball team swept crosstown rival Tufts University in a non-conference doubleheader. The Engineers walked off in game one with a 2-1 win and then used a shutout pitching performance by senior captain Ravenne Nasser (Methuen, Mass.) in game two to secure the sweep. Today's sweep marks the first time in program history that the Engineers have swept the Jumbos in doubleheader during the regular season.

  • Nasser Breaks Wins Record as MIT and WPI Split NEWMAC Doubleheader

    On the final day of the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC), No. 16 MIT and WPI split a doubleheader. MIT won game one, 8-2, and WPI took game two, 2-1. With the split, WPI earned the NEWMAC regular season title, while MIT took the No. 2 seed for the upcoming postseason tournament.

    No. 13 MIT and Johnson & Wales University split a non-conference doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon in Rhode Island. After the Wildcats took game one, 1-0, the Engineers bounced back to take the nightcap by a 4-3 final.
  • No. 13 Softball Takes Two From Smith on Friday

    The No. 13 ranked MIT softball team swept Smith College in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) doubleheader in Cambridge on Friday evening. Doing so, the Engineers clinched a top-two seed in the upcoming conference tournament and the results of their upcoming doubleheader against WPI will determine the 2019 regular season champion. MIT came into today's doubleheader ranked third in the first NCAA Division III New England Regional Rankings.
  • No. 13 Softball Wins Game Two to Earn Split at Salve Regina

    Salve Regina University snapped MIT softball's 12 game winning streak as the two teams split a non-conference doubleheader this afternoon in Newport. The host Seahawks took game one, 1-0, before the Engineers won the nightcap, 6-0.

    Junior Sarah Von Ahn (West Linn, Ore.) belted the game winning home run in the opener and the Engineers used two runs and a shutout pitching performance by sophomore Colleen Campbell (Snoqualmie, Wash.) in game two to earn a doubleheader sweep of Springfield College on the road in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action on the road this afternoon.
  • No. 13 Softball Defeats Wellesley 8-2 in Game One; Game Two Halted Due to Darkness

    Junior Michelle Wist (Cypress, Texas) went 4-for-4 with a home run, two doubles, a triple, three runs and two RBI in game one as the No. 13 MIT softball team picked up an 8-2 win over Wellesley College in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action on Saturday. Game two was halted due to darkness with the score even at 1-1 in the top of the ninth inning. 
  • Ravenne Nasser Named Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III National Pitcher of the Week

    Louisville, Ky. (April 9) - After being named as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Softball Pitcher of the Week on Monday, MIT senior Ravenne Nasser (Methuen, Mass.) becomes the first student-athlete in program history and second in the conference to be named as the Louisville Slugger/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III National Pitcher of the Week.

    Senior Ravenne Nasser (Methuen, Mass.)no hit Clark University twice and drove in the game winning run in game two for the No. 16 nationally-ranked MIT softball team as the Engineers swept the Cougars in both ends of a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) doubleheader in Cambridge on Saturday.

    Junior Sierra Rosenzweig (Anchorage, Alaska) broke the single game program record with three triples in game one as the No. 16 MIT softball team picked up a pair of New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) victories at Emerson College today.

    Junior Devon Goetz (Rockville, Md.) registered her 100th career hit and pitchers Ravenne Nasser (Methuen, Mass.) and Colleen Campbell (Snoqualmie, Wash.) both notched complete game shutouts as the No. 5 MIT softball team swept Wheaton College in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon at Briggs Field.
  • Bats Explode as No. 5 MIT Softball Sweeps Coast Guard in NEWMAC Twinbill

    The No. 5 ranked MIT softball team put together 22 runs, 21 hits and four home runs in a doubleheader sweep at Coast Guard in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action on Saturday. The 14 runs matched a season-high for the Engineers as MIT previously put up 14 runs against Simmons back on March 20.
  • Softball Splits with Babson to Open NEWMAC Schedule

    The No. 5 ranked MIT softball team split its home opening doubleheader with New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) rival Babson College on Friday afternoon in Cambridge. The Beavers took game one, 6-1, before an outstanding pitching performance by Colleen Campbell (Snoqualmie, Wash.) secured the split for the Engineers in the nightcap.
  • No. 5 Softball Drops Games to Luther & No. 17 Whitewater to Close Trip to Florida

    On its final day in Clermont, the No. 5 ranked MIT softball team fell to both Luther College and No. 17 Wisconsin-Whitewater to close the trip with a 4-4 record.
