CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After an impressive showing last Saturday at the New England Invitational swimming meet, MIT freshman Emily Ryan (Indianapolis, Ind.) was named a Counsilman Hunsaker Swimmer of the week by CollegeSwimming.com it was announced today.
Ryan was impressive in winning three races. She broke an MIT and two pool records as well as recording NCAA B cuts in a pair of events. Ryan started with a win in the 200 Freestyle, setting a pool record with her time of 1:53.48 that was also a 'B' cut. She then took the 100 Free with a time of 53.83 and finished her trio of wins with another pool and 'B' cut mark in the 500 Free with an effort of 5:01.21, a time that also set a new Institute record.
